Set in the heart of the Cotswolds countryside, this entire celebration took place at Hyde House, from relaxed morning preparations right through to a packed dance floor with house music vibes, live saxophone and percussion. It was colourful, full of personality, and completely centred around family, friends and good times.
If you’re planning a Hyde House wedding, Gemma & Tom’s day is the perfect example of how fun, vibrant and personal this venue can be.
Hyde House is one of the most sought-after barn venues for a Cotswolds wedding, and it’s easy to see why.
With on-site prep spaces, a light-filled ceremony barn, beautiful courtyard and panoramic countryside views, it allows the whole day to flow effortlessly in one place. Exactly what a wedding should be, just a relaxed atmosphere from start to finish.
And as a wedding videographer, I always appreciate how well the venue works for storytelling. Everything is within walking distance, which means more time capturing real moments and less time dealing with logistics.
One of the biggest advantages of a wedding at Hyde House is the space it gives you in the morning.
Gemma got ready on-site with her bridesmaids, surrounded by colour from the very start — bright florals, bold details and plenty of laughter. There was music playing, prosecco flowing and a genuine buzz of excitement in the room.
Meanwhile, Tom and the groomsmen were able to relax and enjoy the build-up without rushing. Having separate spaces at the same venue helps contrast the morning prep in the wedding film; one side, bright and spacious for the girls & the other, a quiet library adding an air of sophistication to the groomsmen preparations.
The ceremony barn at Hyde House is flooded with natural light, which makes it ideal for both photography and videography. The neutral tones of the space allowed Gemma & Tom’s vibrant styling to really stand out.
Music played a huge part in this Hyde House Cotswolds wedding. From live performances during the drinks reception to a high-energy sax & percussion duo in the evening, the entire day felt like one long celebration. Guests spilled out into the courtyard in the August sunshine, and the atmosphere never dipped.
Hyde House works brilliantly for live music because the spaces transition so naturally, from ceremony to courtyard drinks, to dinner, to dancing, without losing momentum.
One of the most personal touches of the day was Gemma’s contribution herself. She runs her own cake-making business and created multiple wedding cakes as table favours for guests.
Not only did they look incredible, but it added such a meaningful layer to the day. Every guest had something handmade by the bride waiting at their seat, a detail that perfectly reflected the thought and personality behind the whole wedding.
